Best live bait for saltwater fishing?

I was wondering what you people consider the best live bait for fishing Saltwater (in SC, USA, in my case). I was using shrimp, which I suppose is pretty standard, but I was wondering Some of you have found to be most effective. Thank you.

Depends on what you are after, live shrimp is ok to Most coastal fish, but the problem with them is non-target fish steal a good portion of them and if you buy the shrimp can be costly. I little fish piggy pinfish, croakers and finger mullet for coastal fishing I use the most as I can grasp at the time (they appear stay alive and most active on the hook longest However Greenies and other small fish will do) for trout, tarpon, redfish, fish blue and strippers (live eels are the best for strippers well). I also use small crabs when I can take them for redfish. If fishing surfing and Pompano are there, you can not beat the sand fleas live. Because I fold like Pollywog live (local name), they are a minnow bull that you catch in marshes and fish you like you are fishing a Carolina-rigged worm plastic. For the best sheephead fiddler crabs bait fish just adjacent to any pilling. If you are a fishing pier and kingfish are taken around you some hard tails (blue runners) and the platform with a small wire trace. Esentually, the fish you target determines the bait you use.
