What is the best type of outdoor furniture for a rainy climate?

I live in the Northwest Pacific, which is famous for its frequent rain. We enjoy the few months of Nice weather we have, but even in summer we can get precipitation. I want to have outdoor furniture in our backyard, but I do not want it to be ruined if it is wet. I like the idea of padded chairs, but since we do not shed or covered terrace, they are likely to get rained on and I do not want them to grow moldy or whatever. What materials the best for rain?
